The ÖSD examination center in Istanbul is jointly operated with p.i.d. concept GmbH (pid) in Düsseldorf, Germany, and is now located within the School of Foreign Languages at Istanbul Kent University. Situated in the centrally located district of Beyoğlu, the test center is easily accessible thanks to its modern campus and excellent public transport connections. Nearby metro and tram lines ensure that all exam candidates can reach the center quickly and comfortably.
pid has been offering professional German lessons at levels A1, A2, B1 and B2 for several years now, with a focus on hospital nurses and doctors in Turkey. These healthcare professionals have to meet very stringent state requirements and those of university hospitals in Germany at level B2 and C1 respectively. pid specializes in human resources and consulting in the German hospital and healthcare sector. pid contributes its expertisein teaching German at the highest level to the joint ÖSD examination center, and most of pid’s German teachers are also certified as ÖSD examiners. Through its cooperation with Kent University Istanbul School of Foreign Languages, the ÖSD examination center is open to all external examination participants at levels A1, A2, B1, and B2, as well as for German courses at Kent University. The minimum age for German courses and examinations is 14 for A1 and A2, and 16 for B1 and B2. Registration for German exams can be done via the exam center’s registration portal on this website, and for German courses directly at the school.
p.i.d. concept GmbH ("pid"), based in Düsseldorf, Germany, contributes its experience and track record in professional language training in the healthcare sector to the field of language examinations. Known for recruiting experienced nursing professionals from Turkey for German hospitals and university clinics, pid has now expanded its activities to include the establishment and management of our ÖSD German Language Examination Center in Istanbul. pid also brings its particular experience in intercultural integration of Turkish professionals to the examination center, it helps guide the professional and development of Turkish individuals in German higher education; also, it addresses the needs of its institutional partners in Germany.
The School of Foreign Languages is an important unit that entered academic life in 2021. It has been continuing its education and training activities without interruption since 2021.
The Department of Foreign Languages within our school provides students with a wide range of languages and allows them to develop their language skills. The English Preparatory Program and the Turkish Preparatory Program aim to better prepare students for their undergraduate education.
The Writing and Culture Center, another important component of our school, supports the scientific studies of both students and faculty members. While our center guides scientific article writing, it also contributes to the revitalization of the academic environment with the cultural events it organizes. All of our units are staffed by expert and experienced staff. In this way, we aim to provide our students with the highest quality education.
